PTFE Hose

PTFE hose is made of Polytetrafluoroethylene – an engineered fluoropolymer. Polytetrafluoroethylene is a different name for a chemical compound also known as Teflon. Due to its excellent chemical resistance properties, PTFE hose is widely used in high-temperature hydraulics, electrical insulation, chemical transfer lines, gas sampling applications.

PTFE Hose Benefits Compared To a Traditional Rubber-Lined Hose:

  • Excellent chemical compatibility with most acids, alcohols, detergents, and solvents. It is the most versatile thermoplastic hose in terms of chemical resistance available on the market right now
  • Lowest coefficient of friction of any known plastic hose. Its non-stick surface properties decrease the chances of pressure drops and deposit buildup
  • Broad temperature range of -100°F to 500°F (-73°C to 260°C)
  • High operating pressure up to 6,160 psi
  • Durability. This hose is chemically inert, which means that it will not break down while in use or deteriorate in storage. It has an unlimited shelf life and its properties do not change with time.

Always ensure that the fittings and PTFE Hose are compatible with each other and made by the same manufacturer for a good seal.
