Transair Piping

Transair piping systems solve a lot of the problems that compressor installers have faced over the years. The “quick connect” design avoids the need for welding, gluing or threading. That translates into speedier installations and less cost for labor. This is not the only reason why aluminum piping has quickly become the preferred material for air compressor system installations. It’s designed to meet special performance and installation requirements for compressed air, industrial vacuum or inert gases such as nitrogen. Aluminum piping system also have the performance characteristics of steel piping at the cost of plastic systems.

Advantages of Transair Aluminum Pipe

The Hope Group often recommends Parker Transair piping systems for its air compressor, vacuum and nitrogen generator systems. We like it because it provides many benefits for our customers. Some of the advantages of Transair are:

  • Lower installation costs. Transair piping uses quick connects, so fittings can be disconnected and reconnected for reuse. This makes the system easy to use and install. The quick connections eliminate the need to thread or solder pipe, so less labor time is required for the installation.
  • Leak-free connectors provide an immediate, unbreakable seal. Approximately 25-30% of an air compressor’s power is lost to air leaks, and they commonly occur at the piping connections. Transair products come with a 10 year leak-free guarantee from the manufacturer.
  • Lightweight piping remains unaffected by contaminants. Aluminum resists corrosion and contaminants far better than copper and steel. Powder-coated aluminum pipes are light and easily handled during installation by one person. Unlike plastic piping systems (which The Hope Group strongly discourages) aluminum piping systems have proven reliable and durable.
  • Versatility. Transair aluminum piping is available in diameters ranging from 16.5 to 168mm. It is suitable for temperatures -4 °F to 185 °F. Also, Transair is certified for maximum working pressures up to 100 PSI in all diameters and up to 188 PSI  at temperatures -4 °F to 113 °F.

How to Increase Reliability with Transair Piping

You can monitor your system in real-time with Transair Condition Monitoring and increase its reliability. These wireless sensors provide accurate readings on pressure temperature, humidity, power, and flow. Sensors transmit data to a cloud-based software platform,  and use can access data from anywhere. A Transair Condition Monitoring package allows users to:

  • Customize system alerts. You’ll be alerted either by email and/or text message when operating conditions fall outside of optimal ranges.

  • Reduce likelihood of downtime. Variations in operating conditions like temperature, pressure, humidity, etc. often precipitate a breakdown. When you identify system changes early, they can be addressed so that you can avoid a breakdown situation.

  • Generate trend charts for data insight and analysis. Identify variations early is helpful, but seeing your data over a period time makes it easier for identify and address reliability issues

  • Make informed decisions about upgrades. Identify which improvements will have the most impact before you get make a recommendation for improvements. When you are armed with data collected over time, you take the guesswork out of it.
