Hydraulic Power Units

How a Hydraulic Power Unit Works

Hydraulic Power Unit, or HPU, consists of an engine or electric motor, a pump, a valve, and a reservoir. Its primary purpose is to supply hydraulic fluid flow into the hydraulic system by pressurizing oil. Compared to traditional electrical and mechanical systems, hydraulic power units have many benefits. They provide more force using less energy, which is beneficial for applications with heavier loads. HPUs also have a wider range of speeds and load weights to provide precise movement and speed control.

HPU Custom Design and Fabrication

When it comes to HPUs, there are many specifications to think about, including the horsepower (HP) of the engine or electric motor power supply, a single or double-acting valve, flow of the pump, PSI of the system, and capacity of the tank. In most cases, pre-made HPUs simply cannot satisfy all your needs at the same time, so a custom power unit design is requested.

The Hope Group can be your trusted partner when it comes to custom HPU design and fabrication. We provide turn-key hydraulic power units ranging from 1 HP units to 1000 gallon multi-pump systems. THG HPU’s are fabricated at our 60,000 square foot, ISO 9001:2008 certified facility in Northborough, Massachusetts and meet special requirements including:

  • stainless steel constructions
  • sound and vibration reductions
  • ASME/API enclosures for corrosion- and explosion-proof environments
  • ISO 9001:2015, AS 9100D, AS 9120B standards. We operate in ITAR Registered facility with UL508A Panel Shop, Certified Parker Hose Shop, Certified Parker Hydraulic Technology Center

Our Engineering and Fabrication Department is ready for new challenges, and customer satisfaction is our number one priority. Contact us to tell us more about your project.
